Losing in recent years its distinctive characteristic as a state governed by the rule of law, Turkey is rapidly heading towards an arbitrary and fascist tendency of rule as a consequence of the authorization of the (AKP) by the Parliament. This tendency and its ongoing conflict with the fundamental institutions of the Republic have aggravated the tension in Turkey.
Hence, we are confronted in the political arena with systematic and deliberate plots against the Mayors of the Republican People’s Party (CHP). I am of the belief that our fellow citizens who believe in modern and secular Republic keep their eyes on the neutralizing, suppressive and incriminating policies undertaken against the Republican People’s Party’s Municipalities by siphoning new funds to the AKP municipalities and disregarding unlawful activities. All these schemes shall be thwarted and policies attempting to carry political power beyond the domain of law shall end up in frustration as it has so far been the case.
We trust in the fully independent judiciary and a state governed by the rule of law, and know that prosperous and happy days are soon to come.
